The theme for Stewardship Week 2008 is
"Water is Life"
The concept of stewardship involves personal and social responsibility. We have a duty to learn about and improve natural resources as we use them wisely. By doing this we can achieve material and spiritual growth in our own lives, and leave a rich legacy for future generations.
NACD/NACD Auxiliary National Conservation Poster Contest
Color for Conservation and possibly win some money.
Competition is open to all children who are residents of Page County Iowa, from Kindergarten through 12th grade.
Posters should reflect the contest theme, "Water is Life". Posters should be made on regular poster paper 8.5 x 11 up to 22 x 28 inches. There may be any medium such as paint, magic marker, pencil, cut and paste, crayon or whatever inspires the student.

Scholarship/Internship
In Page County we believe strongly in Conservation and preserving our Natural Resources for future generations. Because of this we offer a scholarship/internship to high school seniors who are pursuing post-high school programs in agriculture or natural resources and reside in Page County.
The winner will spend 40 hours as an intern in our office learning about conservation measures, engineering practices, survey techniques and GPS technology. After completion of the internship, a $400 check will be issued to the student for upcoming school expenses. The best overall application will be sent to compete Regionally for a scholarship sponsored by the Conservation Districts of Iowa and their Auxiliary. Winners at the regional level receive $200 awards and the opportunity to compete at the state level, where scholarships of -- $1,500, $1,000, and $800 --- are awarded to winners.
